Started before the Depression in 1924, John Murcott supplied fruit importers with handling equipment such as knives and boxes. He ran the company until 1964 when his three children: Richard, Jack and Barbara started running operations. They added all the display and food prep equipment that is now our main business.
In 1992, Timothy and David (Richard’s sons) started working full time for the business. Since then both Jack and Barbara have retired, while Richard still works four days a week. Many of our employees have worked for us for more than 10 years, including one that is putting in his 22nd year with us. As you can see, John H. Murcott is a true family business three generations strong.
